Meeting The Joe

Yeah, so, for details go see [livejournal.com profile] 2am_optimism's post here, because I'm still way too mortified to even *think* about the experience.

However, if you want to see a terrible quality vid of him talking briefly, I've uploaded it here. It's SO dark. The idiot con people had a black backdrop for their Q&A bits. Anyway, enjoy what you can!

Neat! But it, uh, kind of looks like they had him speaking in a haunted house.

Haha, it totally does. Maybe that was their intention on this Halloween weekend.

It was also really embarrasing because all the announcements kept being read out and interrupting everything - in the middle of an anecdote Joe would have to stop and wait for "Mrs Smith please come to the information desk, your child is missing" or whatever. So poorly done.

Oy, how annoying! (I have to say, I can never really watch clips of those Q&A sessions at cons, or go to them, because *something* always trips my squick meter like crazy. At least there wasn't time for anyone to ask anything seriously bizarre?)

Not *too* bad. We did have the obligatory "The fans love the interaction between John and Rodney..." comment, but it was relatively subtley phrased so only made me cringe a leetle. And Joe's answer was really nice :D

I love the sly way he says "wink of the eye!" Thank you!

Hee! You're welcome!

Thanks so much for putting up the clip! And sorry your experience was, um, mortifying? eeee?

[identity profile] zoetrope.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Hee. Only because I just *hate* feeling uncomposed, and I was really really tongue-tied and trying to be cool. Man, how shameful. I keep blushing in retrospect. *g*

Oh my God! -- you went to an 'actorcon'! You are so brave! (Apologies for the overuse of exclamation marks, but I am so impressed). I don't think I would ever have the nerve. Apart from the fact that I am sort of *old*, there's the whole coming-away-desperately-disappointed thing to contend with. What if the object of your desire smells, or is obnoxious, or worst of all -- short?! (I met Michael York in a lift once, many years ago, and was scarred for life by the fact that he was smaller than me).

Anyway, thanks for the link to the report and to the video. He does sound rather nice, and I loved the wavey-right-hand thing he does while he is talking! And the drawl!

Tell me about it! The whole experience was so shameful that I'm reconsidering the fact that I have tickets for peg2con. Eep!

Yeah, he's so sexy IRL. *thud*

;)

Do I hear you giggling at the end of that? Heee. I saved your message so I can listen to the squee when I have a bad afternoon or whatever. <3

[identity profile] zoetrope.livejournal.com 2006-10-30 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
YES! Hee! Now you can see what I turned into and why it was SO SHAMEFUL OMG. I GIGGLED! Me! At a BOY!

*runs away in shame*

*keeps message forever, both because it is delightful and also for nefarious blackmail purposes*
