Jun. 14th, 2006 05:00 pmAfter finally talking to my boss about the way that I've been feeling, she was actually amazingly kind and positive and has sent me home on leave for as long as I need. Phew. So now just to get down to the business of getting properly better, which is scary and I don't really know how long it will take. But hopefully it shall be accomplished!
In other news, I really couldn't not pimp Imagine Me & You, a romantic comedy that is released in the UK this Friday.
This film is about a woman who falls in love on her wedding day, not with the groom, but with the person hired to do the flowers for her wedding. Who also happens to be a woman. This stars Piper Perabo - who you'll remember from Coyote Ugly (shudder) - and a huge cast of great staple UK actors, and is most definitely worth paying the extortionate cinema fee to watch. Romantic and funny, it fills you up like a good rom com should, and doesn't do what so many movies do these days - i.e. blow the ending by not doing it big enough. Like a slutty Goldilocks, it does everything just. right.
I won't lie - I had serious reservations about this film when I first heard about it. This was mainly because it was written and directed by a man, and when it's a relationship between two women that makes me wonder if it's not just a flick for FHM readers. However, I was honestly so so pleasantly surprised. I laughed, I cried, etc. etc. Go see. :)

Date: 2006-06-14 05:47 pm (UTC)Re boss: WOW, that's wonderful! I'm so happy/relieved/etc. for you. How long do you think you'll need? Is there anything I can do to help? I thought of you several times over the weekend and how I'd like to show you *my* stomping grounds one day. Too bad they are so far away. :(
