I just made my first proper page edit on Fanlore. *bites nails*. But it was exciting! I can see how it could become completely addictive.

Meanwhile, OTW has made an awesome series here about vidding - the hows, whys and wherefores. Really great stuff, it made my afternoon pass much more quickly yesterday (yes, I should have been working. Shut up.) It was a little scary though, in a weird way. I feel a little like an amateur, messing around with the toys of the professionals. They all have, like, whiteboards! And special vidding drives! And I just prat around, really *g*

I totally know what you mean about feeling like an amateur. Vidding is fun, it's fine, it's addictive, but some people think about so many things I never even consider, especially when it comes to the tech aspect. Though, to be fair, I've tried learning more about the technical aspect, it just tends to not work, no matter what the tutorials say. ;)

Yeah. I think I'm just too naturally impatient to actually be so thorough about something. I guess my fatal flaw is I do a lot of things roughly, and nothing well!

I can be thorough, but when the programs give me unexplainable errors (prime example: two thirds through a vid, imported lagarith clips, and all of a sudden premiere makes random clips blank...) and the tested, lower quality version *works*, it's just not worth the hassle. I'm not doing it for money, so the fun part is important.

And, dude, you do things more than well. :D

I haven't been nearly brave enough to do anything to Fanlore, although I really should because of my modding addiction. I'm sort of stuck at the nail biting bit, the same as I am in Wiki. The whole 'what if I do it wrong' terror kicks in...

Wow. Videos about vids. There are days when being in fandom is like living meta. Should help the cataloguing to go quicker this afternoon though :) Thanks for the link!

Those vids are great - enjoy! You should make a vid of you watching the vids that are about vidding. Create an endless loop! *g*

*snort* I've helped make (or possibly hindered the making of) a vid, but Word is just about the most complicated software I can use. I'll stick with the watching for now, I think :)

I've very much enjoyed everything you've been doing - I also watched some of the stuff over at the DIY Video Summit. It's all great, and really makes me feel like I'm a part of something. Can't wait for more on the vidding history project! And if you ever need help, just yell :D
