24 Hours away from the computer and I'm panting like a junkie stranded on a tropical island in a J. J. Abrams TV show.
Spent yesterday and last night at The Most Picturesque HouseOn The Prairie In The World with step-family. They live in Orlando County (Kent) in the middle of a spot of outstanding natural beauty, down this treacherous mile-long lane that totally screwed up my Mum's suspension (shhh! If you don't point it out, she'll never notice!). This morning I popped out to the car and, as I walked back to the house, looked across the icy field and hillside and a deer and a stag scampered merrily and picturesquely (yes, that's a word) across the vista and into the forest. Very pretty.
Most of my time there was spent looking after my three step-er... cousins? who are two, four and six. I believe my greatest triumph was the face paints. I'm not known for being a particularly girly girl who loves the kiddies, but I will stand by my belief that the two year old with a face like a tiger roaring at herself in the mirror was the cutest thing ever. Oh, shut up, I'm allowed to like these things at Christmas. My weakest point was managing to set up my step-Uncle's DVD player, when neither he nor my father could figure it out. You'd think he'd have been grateful, but actually he was really pissed off. Men! *rolls eyes*
So now I'm settling down with
ds_seekritsanta (my story is soooo great! Thank you Santa! ♥) and chocolates. Chocolates!
Yum.
