Have had a lovely weekend, thanks mostly to [livejournal.com profile] rossywar who's been delightful company on both days.

Yesterday we went to lunch in Chinatown and then back to mine to watch Seinfeld and, almost immediately, have pizza. Here is a picture of us looking windswept on the bus. Ros can't keep her eyes open when having her photo taken, apparently. It seems to be a physical impossibility for her!

And then today I spent most of the day in bed, until eventually I dragged myself into the bath, in which I sang along to the songs from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which was on the TV. Then went into town and watched Garden State with Ros and her friend N. I loved the movie, and cried almost from start to finish.

Afterwards we went to a bar and I drank two Seabreezes and noticed that John Hurt was standing at the bar.

[livejournal.com profile] khaleesian, [livejournal.com profile] kittygoslingp and [livejournal.com profile] prudentia, I'm thinking of having a party at the beginning of February, sometime before Valentine's. I'd love it if you guys could come. Let me know when's good, if you are around!

I'm not sure which of those things makes my mind boggle more. Either way, Lorne salutes you ;)

Where meg asks a question that has nothing to do with your post, except well...duh...John Hurt. *gulp*

Have you done a tutorial somewhere or would you on how to make an icon like that Jason Alexander one you are showing off on this post? :) I love the effect.

I haven't done a tutorial for this icon, but that's mainly because it was really really simple! I'll get something together and send it to you :)

Sounds lovely! [livejournal.com profile] kittygoslingp was talking about doing something around that time, so maybe you should liaise with her to make sure you don't conflict. Sadly I have to work alternate weekends (I presume you are talking weekends?), and the only one I have free in early Feb is the 12th/13th Feb, though I'm also currently free on 30th January. However, if you want to go ahead on a weekend when I'm working I quite understand. I finish work at 5 on Sundays, so could possibly come along afterwards.

I was thinking of suggesting a potential get together at the end of Feb/early March for a 'Wilby Wonderful' viewing. Would you be interested in that?

Happy New Year by the way, and I absolutely *loved* your 'Twelve Days of Christmas' story! Have you thought about having it printed out and made into zines (I know you once mentioned something along those lines for you current wip)? I'd certainly be interested.

The 30th would be good for me! Should I post in london_slashers do you think?

And I'd definitely be interested in a Wilby Wonderful viewing. Have already pre-ordered ;)

And glad you enjoyed '12 ways...'! I hadn't really thought about putting it in a zine, but it's quite small. Maybe look into doing it
as a bonus extra for the 'This is where...' zine? I'm still planning on trying that, I just need to finish the damn thing first ;)

Yes, post away! And I just noticed your reply to Khaleesian. The 30th is a *Sunday* -- hope that is still okay? (I'm busy on the Saturday at a mother-arranged thing).

Your icon is so lovely! I still have the card pinned up on my message-board - it's so beautiful.

Yes, Sunday it is (believe it or not I even checked the day before, and *still* got it wrong!). Was thinking of starting the party early-ish, as it's a "school night" :)

Sounds kewl. I'm up for anything. Going back to Cali for the last week of February, currently my only immovable plan... and at the end of January, I'm coming off a two-week visit from my in-laws, so I would be very, very grateful for some good company and conversation. Plus, I could bring you a Kinderei. ;)

Get together

I've been off-line but both [livejournal.com profile] prudentia and [livejournal.com profile] khaleesian mentioned your post; I would love to come to your party, thank you for the invitation. I see that the consensus seems to be in favour of 30th January which is a Sunday but I also see some mention of Saturday - all day Sunday is fine for me but Saturday I have a thing and it would be about 6.00pm before I'd be free - I'll tune in later to find out what you settled on.

Oh, I have to say that I loved your 'twelve days' piece too, it's really excellent and deserves a wide dissemination.

Thanks! I've *just* seen your comment over on ds_seekritsanta! I really need to get my arse into gear and respond to those.

Looks like Sunday 30th is best for most people, so that's the one I'm keeping free. Maybe, as it's a Sunday, it would be nice to have it from late afternoon - say 4-5pm - rather than starting late? Hope to see you there, anyway! Will post a general invite over at london_slashers.
