The interview went well - thank you to everyone who sent good wishes :)

The day of the interview was a series of misadventures, though.

I woke up at 4:30am and simply couldn't get back to sleep - even though I wasn't at all nervous! Instead I became obsessed with this fic bunny, which I started writing, making myself late to get dressed. Then I was going to wear smart shoes and couldn't find any pop socks, even though I have at least four pairs, because I was in a rush. I ended up wearing socks with pink heels that peeked ridiculously over the tops of my shoes. Then after I left the house the hem of one of my trouser legs came down, so I was wearing uneven-length trousers.

The interview itself was perhaps the most surreal thing ever. After a series of rather usual, dull questions it went something like this.

Interviewer: Would you mind my asking... when your birthday is?
Me: Er... (thinking she meant for how old I was) 1981. May.
Interviewer: May... does that make you... Gemini?
Me: Er, no, Taurus.
Interviewer: Oh, that's ok then. I've got a job that might be perfect for you, but she absolutely won't have a Scorpio.
Me: I... see.
Interviewer: What *time* were you born, do you know?
Me: I--
Interviewer: Oh, and where?
Me: Let me just save you some time. I'm a Virgo rising with Gemini moon.
Interviewer: Oh, excellent, she'll like that.

So, apparently, it's not my typing skills this woman cares about, it's my rising sign. I *knew* there was a reason I wasn't a Scorpio. Not that there's anything wrong with being a Scorpio (*smiles at remote_control*).

Anyway, the interview was with a recruitment firm and they've set me up with an interview already, for a *really* well paid job - YAY! Although it's miles and miles away in Clapham of all places, and also the employer is said to be a bit of a "character" which sounds ominous to me.
